buy this: luxury vs reality | satchel bag

Yet again, the blogosphere tempts me with gorgeous designer items. This time it’s the lovely 3.1 Phillip Lim medium pashli satchel which retails for $825. I’ve never been a big purse gal, aside from my trusted Marc by Marc Jacobs, but still have never paid anywhere close to that price for a handbag. Much to the hubby’s delight, I’m not about to start now.

I found a bag with a very similar look and feel of the original at Aldo for a fraction of the cost, at $55. Though the designer version is certainly gorgeous, for someone like me who is not a purse lover the Aldo version or even this Zara contender are a much safer bet.
