So cooking is definitely not my forte. It’s not that I can’t cook per se, I just don’t particularly enjoy to. But since eating out gets expensive and I feel like I’d be a complete failure of a woman if I didn’t cook at least a little, I decided it’s about time I get to work in the kitchen. My recent foray into the culinary arts was preparing quinoa. I bought a package of quinoa several weeks ago but had never attempted making anything with them. I’d heard of this ingredient and had tasted it at restaurants so I decided it was finally time to give it a go. It came out surprisingly tasty and gave me faith to continue my cooking attempts 🙂 I read the directions on the package and substituted chicken broth instead of water to give it more flavor. I also added some sauteed onions and steamed corn and paired it with a traditional chicken cutlet. The end result was very tasty and hopefully my incredibly picky husband likes it just as much as I do. As long as I don’t tell him quinoa is healthy I think I’ll be good to go. Since I have a strong sweet tooth I had to end the meal with some chocolate. The sea salt dark chocolate from World Market is my current fave.
