do this: attend a blog conference

Today was day one of the Lucky FABB blog conference. First of all, the fancy pants SLS Beverly Hills Hotel was quite impressive. When I pulled in I couldn’t believe the amount of adorable, fashionable and incredibly well-dressed girls around me. I felt so intimidated but forged ahead with my mission of meeting people, networking and of course learning more about the world of blogging.

I will have to do a full post about the whole experience when I get back but so far it’s been really interesting. It’s hard to put yourself out there and approach people you’ve long admired from behind the computer screen (I felt a bit like celeb spotting when I saw some of my favorite bloggers at the conference) but also incredibly rewarding.

I did have the courage to approach Jessie of the Sweet Thing blog and she couldn’t have been nicer. It reminded me that behind our glossy fonts and graphics of our blogs we are real people putting ourselves out there for the world to see. I also loved meeting so many new bloggers and writers and am looking forward to connecting with even more throughout the conference. Can’t wait for day two of the conference and a full recap when I get back!
