do this: get a blowout at drybar

I mentioned that I was going to celebrate and pamper myself on my birthday and I did exactly that. In addition to a mani/pedi and a massage, I also tried out Drybar for the first time.
Drybar is a blow dry bar offering a simple blowout and style โ€” no cuts or color. The salon first came onto the scene in early 2010 and has been growing rapidly throughout the country. My local one is located in the Santana Row shopping district (yes I may or may not have shopped both before and after my blowout, but hey it was my birthday ๐Ÿ™‚
I first found out about it a few years ago and thought it was a fantastic idea. What girl wouldn’t want to get a super stylish hairdo for about $35? So I was definitely looking forward to checking it out for myself.
The only other time I get a professional blowout is after sitting in the salon chair for 3+ hours enduring the process of chemical coloring. But to just walk in on a random day and get my hair washed and professionally dried and styled, this was definitely a first.
The whole experience was fantastic! Booking an appointment was a breeze, thanks to the online scheduling system and I was also pleasantly surprised when I walked through the salon doors. Not only is the place super chic but they also serve alcohol! Yep, you heard me. While enjoying my lovely scalp massage and watching Sex and the City, I was sipping on a glass of delicious white wine. Heaven on earth.
For my style, I chose a combination of the Mai Tai and Cosmopolitan, resulting in loose, beachy waves. I absolutely loved the end result. I think I spent the rest of the day sashaying my hair around like I was a model haha. There is definitely no way I can ever get my hair to look that way on my own and it was really nice to feel pretty and confident on my birthday. The hair even lasted for another day, so I really made the most out of my Drybar experience.
I would highly recommend trying it out, whether you just want a quick way to unwind (and feel pretty!) or make it a girls night out with everyone getting ready together, Drybar is a great option.
My fancy hair thanks to Drybar

I'm so glad you did a review on this! A drybar just opened near me and I've heard a lot about it but didn't really know what they offered except to dry your hair haha. But knowing they style it too is cool. Sounds like a fun girls day activity!
